apt-cacher software package provides Caching proxy server for Debian/Ubuntu software repositories, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install apt-cacher
apt-cacher is installed in your system.
Make ensure the apt-cacher package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep apt-cacher *
You will get with apt-cacher package name, version, architecture and description in a table
